Get Involved

There are many ways you can help us welcome and support our new neighbors.
Contact us to let us know how you’d like to help.

Volunteer

The Coalition is primarily made up of volunteers. We could not do our work to welcome and support refugees and asylum seekers without the many people who have shared their time and knowledge.

Material Donations

When refugees come to Lane County, they typically arrive with little more than clothing and a few personal items. This can also be true of the asylum seekers we support.

We collect a wide variety of household items such as furniture, kitchen items, and bedding, to help refugees make a new start in our community.

If you have items you would like to donate, please contact us with information about what you’d like to donate. Someone from the Coalition will be in touch with you.

Can you Offer Employment?

The refugees and asylum seekers we work with are required to become self-sufficient in a relatively short period of time. If you have a lead on a job that a refugee may be able to do, please contact us.

House a Refugee or Asylum Seeker

We are always looking for suitable and affordable housing for the refugees and asylum seekers we are welcoming to our community.  Refugees have funds to cover rent; even so, rent needs to be relatively low-cost.

If you have information about housing opportunities in Eugene and Springfield for refugees, asylees, and asylum seekers, please contact us.

Your eyes and ears out in the community about the rental market are really appreciated. Thank you!

While the Refugee & Immigrant Services Program goes through staff transitions, we are temporarily pausing new volunteer intakes through the Refugee Resettlement Coalition website. Please check back on or after 12/15/2025 for updates.

Specific volunteer asks may continue to be published in the Refugee Resettlement Coalition monthly newsletter. If you are not yet subscribed, we invite you to fill out the form at the bottom of our homepage!

Volunteers are key to our work. Welcoming, advocating for, and walking alongside newcomers effectively involves the whole community, not just one or two organizations. We greatly appreciate your interest in supporting refugees and immigrants here in Lane County, and hope to connect with you once capacity allows.
